As the use of ICT has become more important in everyday life, so has the teaching of ICT in schools. At Marland school the aim is to help students become skilled in ICT and confident to choose the right ICT tool for the task in hand.
In the lower school (KS3) ICT students are able to learn new skills by using a variety of programs and equipment. They are also encouraged and given opportunities to use these skills in their other lessons within their school day. They can also start accessing qualifications if this appropriate for the individual student.
At KS4 all students take appropriate qualifications including Functional Skills and BTEC at Levels 1 and 2
designed to encourage professional working practices which is equivalent to the more traditional GCSE.
